We were honored to be brought back for the third installment of the well known Conjuring spinoff series. Writer and director Gary Dauberman was looking for a slight shift in tone, opting for a stylized, self-aware, 70s-era period piece that evokes not only the scares Annabelle induces, but the characters’ emotion and charm audiences have come to expect. Filmograph studied optical title sequences and trailers from the decade to first establish the look, while updating the animation and transitional techniques to meet contemporary standards worthy of the film it succeeds.
